I had traded, won on ebay or bought from a coupon clipping service more of the coupons that went with Kroger's great sale items last week. They made it in yesterday so, Phillip and I went to two different Krogers and each of us did a transaction each. I still have more coupons and hopefully some of the other stores will run some great sale on those items soon.

The capri sun, Pillsbury brownie mix, Angel soft toilet paper and the powerade coupons came from trades or off of ebay. When I am bidding on an auction I work the price per coupon plus the price I will pay at the store for the item and see if it is a good deal or not. The toilet paper was free after coupon. The only cost i had to add in was what I paid for the coupons and I paid .12 for each coupon so, I paid .12 per pack of toilet paper.
This weeks sales ads are not that great. At least I won't have to go to the store much lol

Coupon Basics
I am going to try to do some posts of more the basics of coupons so, you probably all know this but, just in case lol. I will also post my shopping trips too.
Most folks want to know when, where, and how to get coupons: There are a few different kinds and even ways to get them. You need to find out if you store accepts coupon. If they double or triple. If they have limit on how many you can get doubled or tripled and if they have a limit on how many of one item you can buy.
Newspaper: There are a few weekends every year where there are no coupons in the paper. They usually are the Sundays right after a major holiday. There are three sections of coupons that may be in your paper. Smart Source, Red Plum and P&G. Not everyone gets the Red Plum anymore. Some folks actually get Red Plum in their weekly sales ads in the mail. P&G usually only comes at the beginning of the month. When there are great coupons in the paper you might benefit from buying more than one paper. You can also purchase coupons off of ebay, you are not paying for the coupons just the person's time to cut and organize them. I I like to trade with people from different regions just to see what they got that we didn't
Blinkies: I used to see those machines at different stores in front of products and sometime they blink well, these are blinkie coupons. Most can be used at any store that take coupons. They usually can NOT be doubled or tripled. They usually have a longer expiration date. Whenever I see one I try to get a couple even If I don't use that product as it may show up on sale somewhere and the coupon might make them free. An example was our Kroger had Excedrin blinkies for 2.00 any Excedrin so, I picked up a few about two weeks late CVS put all Excedrin small bottles on sale for 1.99 making them free with the blinkie coupon so, I went back to Kroger to get some more blinkies. I ended up with 60 free bottles over the week and we still have quite a few. I got all kinds of the Excedrin and now we won't have to spend that money. If you never have a use for that blinkie you may be able to trade it to someone and get a coupon that you will use.
Winetags: They are on the neck of wine bottles. They are really great coupons and in the state of Texas they can not require you buy alcohol to use the coupon. They are not valid in all states so, if you trade for some make sure they are good in your state. They usually have longer expiration dates. When couponing you don't run across many coupons for fresh meat or produce and that is the beauty of winetags. They are for all kinds of stuff they may be for so much off of beef, any meat, any seafood, produce. They could say something like 2.00 fresh produce when you buy a bottle of Kraft salad dressing. The beauty of that is you may have a coupon for Kraft dressing or it might be on sale and you have a coupon. You can use a coupon on the salad dressing and then use the winetag to get the free produce. There is a chance that it could all be free or really cheap. Not all winetags are wonderful lol. They may be for some kind of cracker or something that you will never buy but, someone else might love those crackers and want to trade. Beer displays sometimes have awesome coupons. Around any big holiday or event the beer companies might offer coupons on the display again no beer purchase is required. So, if you see me out and about, I may be in the wine or beer section hunting for coupons lol.
Peelies: They are one the outside of products. You will get different opinion on taking peelies some folks will not and can't believe that you did and others that see no problem. They feel that the company put them out there for you to use. If you do decide to pick them try ur best not to tear the package they were on or take them all.
Tear pads: These are usually on displays. They can be in any store. They are usually higher value of one dollar or more. I always take a couple because they are harder to find so, the make be really valuable for trading. Just like the peelies please don't take the whole pad. That is just not good coupon conduct but, it happens often.
IP or Internet printables: Before you waste your ink and paper make sure your store takes IP coupons not every one of them do anymore due to folks abusing them by making their own. If you get a link to one and it is to good to be true usually it is. Some of the stores that take them if they won't scan they don't take them so, be prepared. There are sites that you can print coupons from. Smart source and Redplum have sites that you can print coupons from. Most of IP coupons can be printed twice, just hit the back button on your browser. A lot of companies are really using IP coupons. If there are certain products that you love or use quite often be sure to go to their website and sign up for newsletters and look for links for printable coupons. Even some stores have coupons on their websites. Target is big about this. Be sure to read the fine print. Target's coupons now say one per transaction. The cashier may or may not enforce this. You should be able to use more than one if you buy, more than one flavor or kind of the item. You can print coupons from the following sites:
Smart Source-- http://www.smartsource.com
Red Plum-- http://www.redplum.com
Coupons.com-- http://www.coupons.com
Coupons direct from manufacturer: If you love or even hate a product send them and email or letter or pick up the phone and call them. Most of them will send you some kind of coupon for making the effort to get in touch with them. Some companies are very generous about the coupons and may send you multiple coupons for free items.
Loadable coupons: These are one of the newest ways to get coupons. These coupons are loaded onto ur store card like Kroger. Most grocery stores have loyalty cards. You would pick the coupons of the site that you want loaded on your card and when you scan ur card and the item at the store that amount comes off. They cannot be doulbed or tripled but, you usually can use a paper coupon with them. The loaded coupon can only be used once until the site makes it available to load to ur card again. The sites are: Cellfire http://www.cellfire.com, Shortcuts http://www.shortcuts.com and P&G esaver http://www.pgesaver.com
Survey sites: Companies hire survey sites to get their products out to consumers. You may be asked ur opinion on this item so, the might send you the product and even coupons to pass out to friends or use yourself. I am a member or many survey sites. Some of them mail me a check and others give you points that you trade in for gift cards or prizes. A couple that I am a member of send you products to test and give ur opinion good or bad. I did one not to long ago for Chili's and they sent me 4 coupons for free meals. The coupons you get from the companies for the most part have longer expiration dates.
You may run across coupons in side packages of stuff you buy, on the inside of boxes or even in the item itself. Some magazines have coupons in them. All You magazine is great for coupons. It can only be bought at Walmart or by subscription but, the coupons can be used anywhere.

Getting Started
I had my blog set up on Myspace but, this way more folks can read it if they want. I have my coupons in a large three ring binder that also zips and has pockets on the inside and out and an accordion file attached to the outside. I use dividers to organize my coupons in categories. I store my coupon by using baseball/business clear card holders. Each page has 9 pocket on it. You can find these pages at Walmart or an office supply store. I keep two pencil bags. One of them holds coupons that I find while I am out and about. The other I use for storing coupons that I pull out while shopping so, that when I need to checkout they are all right there. My catagories are as follows: HBA, Cleaning, Pet, Baby, Paper, Cold/Frozen, Drinks, Snacks, Canned and Boxed, Sauces and Spices. That is not they way it has to be done just what works best for me. You can have more or less. The accordion file on the outside contains categories for Store coupons (CVS, Walgreens, Target, mall type stores etc..) Restaraunt, sales ads, rain checks trade forms prescription coupons (all three are in the same file) ECBS Catalinas RR (all of these in the same file. I keep a calculator, pen, small pad of paper in one of the other pockets. Yes, my book can get really heavy at times lol
