Woo Hoo great kroger Sales ad (At least for me, lol)

I get the Kroger sales ad emailed to me every week so, I was looking thru and saw some things that are going to be free or a really great price after coupons.

The big one is the Quaker Quakes are on for 10 for 10 so, 1.00 each and I have lots of coupons for 1.00/1 that expire 5-31

country time lemonade drink mixes 1.00 ea there is a printable coupon for 1.50/2 .25 ea

Cool whip1.00 ea printable coupon for 1.50/2 .25 ea

Huggies Diapers are are 8.99 ea if you buy 15.00 worth you would get 3.00 off making them 7.49 a pack but, if you have the 1.50 coupon loaded to ur kroger card and use 2 of the 1.50/1 coupons on a pack and then send in for the caregivers rebate. You can get the deal twice per Kroger card but, you will only get the 1.50 coupon that is loaded on to ur kroger card once unless you find another on to be loaded. After all coupons and rebate you should pay 4.49 a pack roughly. I wish that Kroger carried the new all natural huggies diapers as there are 3.00/1 coupons out but, so far it seems only Target and Kroger are carrying those in our area.

Boneless Skinless chicken breast or tenders are 1.67 lb and that is a great price.

I am sure I have missed lots of stuff.

Awesome CVS Deal

In the sales ad if you buy 2 Neutrogena sun products you will 10.00 in ECB's back. I was reading on HCW and saw a post that the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer SPF 55 1.0FLoz was also producing the ECB's when you bought two. The totally great part about this is that they are 1.99 ea so, spend 3.98 and get back 10.00 in ECB's. That makes this a $6.02 money maker. It is limit one offer per CVS extra care card. I found these on the end cap in the front section of the store where beauty type items are sold. They were in a clear tub/bucket. I hope everyone finds some.

a couple of new coupons are up on coupons.com

I try to check the coupon printing web sites a few times a week. I went to coupons.com today and noticed that there is a .50 off of Kool aid coupon, .75 off of a solo product and .75 off of wishbone dressing. If you also have the rebate for buying wishbone and getting money off of meat, this could make your purchase cheaper. The rebate is for 2.00 off of chicken, beef, or produce when you buy 2 wishbone salad spritzers, bountifuls, wish bone or wish bone western dressing. You can print out two of the wish bone coupons so, that would make a pretty good deal. I have two extra rebate forms if anyone would like them. Just let me know.

CVS

They have some great items that are eithe free after ECB's or cheap in this weeks ad. They are only good on Sunday and Monday. I got two boex of bandaid bandaids today. They were on sale for 2.99 then u get 2.00 ECB's back (limit two per extra care card) I used 2 1.00/1 coupons on ea so, after ECB's they were a .02 money maker on ea. I loved that they character bandaids were included in this sale. I got one box of regular and a box of hello Kitty lol.

All u magazine 2 yr subscription give away

hi: Head over to moms by heart's blog. She is giving away a 2 yr subscription to All you magazine and we all know the great coupons that are in All You . http://www.momsbyheart.net/2009/05/giveaway-2-year-subscription-to-all-you.html

Target Gift Card

I went ahead and bought a Sunday paper (early edition) so, that i could have the sales ads. I picked it up at Wags and used a GC to pay for it so, It didn't cost me any cash. The target ad has a coupon for a 10.00 gift card with any new or transferred prescription. It expires 6-8-09. One of my Wags will honor it and then give 2.00 more than the coupon is valued at. This is a great coupon since we don't see many that can be used on a new prescription. I hate that I am on medication but, if I am going to have to take them I love getting something free.

Everyone please have a safe and happy holiday.

Stocking up on Fresh Meat!!!

I love when holidays roll around because stores put things on sale. We recently went thru our 3 freezers and got them all organized. I haven't bought any meat in quite a while so, I was thrilled with the sales ads for this week. We went out to dinner at Salt Grass steak house. This is our place to go as the 1st time we went to a Salt Grass was on our honeymoon. We don't go very often as it is quite pricey but, Phillip's pay check was a little more than normal and we splurged lol.

Our first stop was Albertson's
They have 3 day sales almost every weekend but, that is when they will mark the boneless skinless chicken breast down. They were 1.66 a lb. The downside is that they are in family packs and not trimmed but, I can do all that myself. We also got a few other things as follows:

7.5lb pack of bone/skinless chicken breast 12.50 used 1.00/1 peelie wyb reynolds wrap 11.50
7.45lb pack of bone/skinless chicken breast 12.45 used 1.00/1 peelie wyb reynolds wrap 11.45
2 24 packs of ozarka water 3.50 ea used 1.00/2 3.00 ea
1 arm hammer kitty litter 4.99 used 1.00/1 3.99
4 packs of oscar meyer hotdogs .99 ea used 2 1.00/2 .50ea
2 packs of reynolds wrap 1.29 ea used 1.00/1 on ea .29 ea (since I bought these, I got to use the peelies on the chicken)

paid 41.02 (there is enough chicken to make 8 meals out of)

Thom Thumb (Safeway, Randalls)
They have their 93% lean ground beef on for 1.99 a lb family packs

I got: right at 8 lbs of ground beef for 15.64
2 trimmed beef briskets for 12.10
total 27.74 but, we will get at least 8 meals from this maybe a couple more.

I still need to go to Kroger tomorrow and I will be done, at least for this week lol.

Super cheap lemonade

There is a printable coupon on www.coupons.com for 1.50 off of 2 canisters of Country time lemonade (powder) they are on sale this week at Kroger for 1.00 a canister. The coupon makes these .50 for 2 canisters. You can print two coupons off so, 4 canisters for 1.00, that is .25 each. Even if it takes you awhile to use these, they should last for awhile. At this price you could get them and donate them to someone else. With summer approaching this is a great item to have around.

just so you know :-)

There will be no coupon inserts in this coming Sunday papers. I don't subscribe to the paper. I just buy a double edition on Sunday. I sometimes forget when there are and aren't coupons in the paper so, if anyone is like me now we know. lol

Trip to Walmart

I try not to buy much at walmart. I like to go to stores that double or triple my coupons but, sometimes with a coupon that can't be doubled or tripled Wal-mart is the best price. There have been some great Kraft printable coupons out and most of them are 1.00 or higher in value and since none of my stores here double or triple anything over .50 I try to get the best deal for these coupons. The main reason we went is that Kraft or Velvetta shells and cheese are 1.50 a box and this is the only kind phillip will eat now. I still like the old powder and milk kind but, he doesn't. The coupon is for 1.00/1 making them .50 a box and I was able to print off 4 coupons. One of our Walmarts has redone their pet department and added live fish so, we tend to go to that one as Phillip like to see what they have in stock. Phillip's job sent him a 25.00 walmart gift card for going above and beyond on his job a couple of weeks ago so, of course I would have loved to have spent it on something else but, it was his so, he got fish. My break down is as follows:

3 sharks 5.84 ea
3 tetra fish 2.07 ea
2 2liter dr. pepper 1.00 ea (used free coupon on ea) FREE
7 bags of Purina kitten chow (used Free coupon on ea) FREE
2 bottles of Kraft ranch with bacon salad dressing 1.08 ea used 1.50/1 on ea .08 ea
1 jar of Best Maid dill pickle slices 1.88 used .55/1 1.33 ea
1 box of Rice a Roni 1.00
1 loaf of Mrs Baird's bread 1.97
1 pkg hot dog buns .88
1 box of Kraft saltine crackers 2.38 used 1.00/1 1.38
4 boxes of Kraft shells and cheese 1.50 used 1.00/1 on ea .50 ea
1 box of snuggles dryer sheets 1.87 used 1.00/1 .87
1 box of pills 4.00
2 bags of kraft shredded cheese 2.08 ea used 1.00/2 1.58ea
loreal shampoo 5.97 used 3.00/1 2.97
loreal conditioner 5.97 used 3.00/1 2.97
facial mask 3.27
ultra gentle face scrub 3.00 used 1.50/1 1.50
bush baked beans 1.62
dog toy .94
2 oscar meyer cheese dogs 2.50ea used 1.00/2 2.00 ea
red hoop cheese 6.80
borden singles 1.88 used 1.00/1 .88
johnsonville cheddar wurst 3.14
laughing cow cheese wedges 2.98 used .55/1 2.43
tax 2.87

total due 109.52
minus 10 percent discount of 7.29
minus phillip's 25.00 gift card
minus 30.67 in coupons
paid 46.56

It is no where near my best trip ever but, we bought stuff that had no coupons but, we either wanted it or needed it. I will say it is a whole lot better than paying the 109.52

Trips to Wags and a couple of questions answered

I have been asked about ECB's (extra care bucks from CVS) and how I organize my coupon book by section so, I will answer them plus, I have done a little shopping recently lol.

ECB's are just like register rewards except for you can use them on the same item you got them from if they have a limit of more than one per card. They have longer expiration dates than RR and I think they are easier to use. You can still you both CVS coupons and manufacture coupons too. I try to roll my ECBS by getting something that is producing ECBS that week if I can use it or it is free lol. If there is nothing that I can roll them into I then buy stuff that I normally can't get a great deal on or some fun item that I want but, really don't want to pay for.

The question about how I have my book divided up is what works for me but, each person will probably have a way they want to set their book up. I have them as follows:
HBA (health and beauty things)
Cleaning
Paper (i put batteries, tape, rubber maid etc)
Pet
Baby
Cold/Frozen (i put produce and fresh meat in here)
Sauces/seasonings
canned/boxed
snacks (i put breads and tortilla's in here)
drinks

Our Thom Thumb (randalls, and safeway)
had a sale that ended today if you bought 5 of certain drinks then 5.00 would be taken off ur bill. Capri Suns were on the list of items. After the 5.00 taken off it would make them 1.49 a box. The new sunrise flavors are included. We went to two different stores to finish using my capri sun coupons. We got 10 boxes of Capri Suns for .49 a box.

I was sick Monday and I had 31.00 worth of RR that expired on Monday so, I wasn't feeling like getting the best deals so, sad to say I sort of blew them.
I got a colgate toothbrush (free after rr)
4 bags of Almond M&M's bogo (printed a 1.00 rr)
neutrogena face wash
neutrogena toner
carpet fresh
dryer sheets
2 boxes of movie candy
2 20oz dr. peppers
1 utility basket (75%off)
1 small grass basket (75% off)
4 lined wicker baskets, going to use these as part of baby gifts (75% off)
1 stationary packet of lisa frank stuff (75% off)
3 pks of chewie sweet tarts
1 cat collare with bell (she has brought us home 2 live baby bunnies this week, so hopefully the bell will warn the bunnies)

I did use coupons on most but, I wish I had felt better cuz I could have done a lot better than I did.

hoping for good sales this week!!

more basic info

A rule of thumb is that products go on sale roughly every 6-8 weeks, if you can get enough of that product to last you till the next sale date you will never have to pay full price!!!

If a store is out of something that you want be sure to get a rain check. This will also give you more time to get more coupons

The biggest question I have been asked is how do I do it. I have been trying to think of a way to type it out so, that folks could understand. After I buy my paper, cut out the coupons and file them away I look at the sales ads. I live in a bigger area so, I have more stores to shop at than some folks will. I mainly shop at: Kroger, CVS, Walgreens, and Albertson's. If there is something that is a great price I will stop by Walmart, Target, Thom Thumb (randalls for some), Dollar General, and Family Dollar . I will try to break it down by store.

Kroger & Albertson's : My stores will take double or triple 3 coupons per shopping trip. They triple from .01-.39 and double from .40-.50 anything higher than that is face value. If say ketchup is on sale 1.00 and I have a coupon for .25/1 bottle the final cost would be .25 because my coupon was tripled to .75 off. I can buy 3 bottles of ketchup and use 3 coupons. If it is something that we use quite a bit or that really doesn't expire my husband will go with me and we will do separate transactions so, in one trip I would get 6 bottles of ketchup. If I have more coupons and want more ketchup I may go again during the week of the sale. This is how I can end up with 20 bottles of ketchup. I have been buying Bar b q sauce this way but, it was totally free. It was on sale for .99 and I have .35/1 coupons that would be tripled but, they will not triple over the price of the item. I have had some slip by the computer but, not many anymore. If you do have a negative balance (it has happened) you would need to add something to absorb the overage, gum, candy something small. You can add the loadable coupons on to your Kroger card. Albertson's did away with their loyalty card but, both stores will take Internet printed coupons if they scan.

Thom Thumb/Randall's: They will double up to .50 and triple up to .39 but, they will only do that on the 1st coupon any after that is face value. I rarely shop there unless something is on sale.

All three of the above stores print Catalina's on some products. A catalina is the machine that is beside the register. It prints coupons, advertisements and so on. If you are walking around in ur store you may notice white tags under the price tag of some items and it might say buy 2 French's mustard get 1.00 off ur next order. These change ever so often. If you get one of these then when you check out next time it will take that amount off of ur bill. Before Christmas Glade plugins were producing 3.50 catalina (cat) when you bought one. I had some coupons that made the glade plugin free so, it was making me 3.50 every time I bought one. I ended up with like 60.00 in catalina's which is free food. My sister n law got even more than that. I may buy a product that produces a catalina even if I don't use that product. French's mustard is having one now at Kroger if you buy 2 then you get 1.00 back. I have coupons that make the mustard .29 ea so, I pay .58 and get the 1.00 cat for next time. Then I find someone to give the mustard too.

When I get the sales ads, I will sit down with my coupons and look at what is on sale and if any of it would be free or close to free. I write down what the price will be after coupons and how many coupons I have for that item. I always go into a store with roughly what I am going to spend so, then if it is not right I can take care of the problem before I leave the store. I drive my husband nuts if something didn't get taken off or is not the right price. Yes, it is only say 1.00 but, 100 of them is 100.00. You can always take ur receipt to customer service if some of ur coupons didn't get taken off or weren't doubled or tripled.

Walmart: They give face value on coupons. They will price match ads. The will take Internet printed coupons if they scan. They don't like you getting free stuff, lol. They are not the cheapest on everything.

Target: They give face value and will take Internet coupons. They have coupons on their website and you can use their coupon and a manufacturer's coupon on one item. They will not let you get overage but, at times you can get free. I like that they sometimes have coupon off of meat and produce. If you look around for smaller cuts of meat then you can pick some up for really cheap. Even if you have a larger family but, 2 or 3 smaller pkgs of meat.

Family Dollar and Dollar General both take coupons at face value. I have not tried using an Internet printed coupon at either store so, I can't tell you if they will or won't take them. There are coupons all the time in Sunday's papers for 1.00 off of Crest toothpaste and 1.00 off of Band-aids they are 1.00ea at Dollar General. That is an every day price.

CVS: They take coupons at face value and u can use A cvs coupon and a manufacture coupon on the same item. ECB's are what prints with ur receipt for so much off. Those are just like cash you can turn around and buy stuff with them. In their ad's it will have the price after ECB's. You would pay the full price and then it will print the ECB's after you have paid. If something is free after ECB's use a coupon and you have made money. They send out email for so much off a purchase like 4 off 20. If they are out of something always get a rain check. They never expire and the ECB's will still print a year later.

Walgreen's: They take coupon at face vlaue and u can use a Walgreen's coupon with a manufacture coupon. They have register reward instead of ECB's and catalinas. They did have a rebate program but, it is now over so, we will see if they bring something new in. Register Rewards expire about a week and a half from when you get them so, watch those dates. Walgreens is a little harder to grasp when u r 1st starting out. They have a rule where you can not have more coupons than items. They consider the register rewards a coupon in that sense. So, if you were going to buy toothpaste and had a coupon for a 1.00 off and a register reward for 1.00 of even if your tooth paste was 2.00 you would have to pick up something small or whatever you wanted to use, I say something small cuz it is usually cheaper. One way to look at it is you need something with a UPC code for each UPC code they scan. Now their coupons in the ad is not part of this. An example would be: A month ago they had huggies diapers on sale if you bought 25.00 worth you would then get a 10.00 register reward back. The diapers were on sale for 10.00 a pack (jumbo) I had 3 coupon for 5.00 off a pack and a register reward from another purchase for 10.00. So, I got the 3 packs of diapers (using a coupon on each) and if I wanted to use the register reward I needed something small to scan also. This is called a filler. I picked up a pencil for .29
3 packs of huggies diapers 10.00 ea used 5.00/1 (3 times) 15.00
my pencil .29
so, I owed 15.29 use a 10.00 register reward paid 5.29 on a gift card and got back a 10.00 register reward. The reason I used the 1st register reward was because it was about to expire and the new one that printed would have a late expiration date on it.

I don't want to go on and on about Walgreens if I totally confused you let me know and I will try to explain it better. There are times at Walgreens I still get confused lol
